Thomas Joseph Kovack, D.O.
Dr. Thomas Kovack has practiced orthopedic surgery in Central Ohio for more than two decades, with a clinical focus on the shoulder, elbow, and knee.
He is one of a small number of surgeons in the country performing arthroscopic biologic total shoulder resurfacing, and is regularly sought out by patients who want a less invasive alternative to conventional shoulder replacement. His technique and outcomes are documented in peer-reviewed publications in Techniques in Shoulder & Elbow Surgery, the Orthopedic Journal of Sports Medicine, and Orthopedics.
Beyond the operating room, Dr. Kovack is committed to plain-language patient education — every consultation includes a clear explanation of what is happening inside the joint and a discussion of every reasonable option before surgery is on the table. He also serves as a physician consultant at the Arnold Sports Festival and brings a competitive-bodybuilding background to his work with active patients.
